The position of Senior OEYDW post is for 1 year. This will offer an excellent opportunity to be part of a dedicated, experienced and passionate team in a unique highly regarded service. The successful candidate will be able to support the team of OEYDW and provide guidance and practical support and evaluation in the day to day running of the Jeely outdoor nursery sessions. 

The Senior OEYDW will report to Head of Early Years Services.

(2 of 4) Outdoors Early Years Development Workers

To provide guidance and practical support in the day to day running of The Jeely Outdoor Nursery sessions. Must be SVQ Level 3 Qualified or equivalent and registered with Scottish Social Services Council. You will be required to obtain Protection of Vulnerable Groups (PVG) scheme membership through Disclosure Scotland and become a member of the relevant PVG scheme.

Key tasks for which the post holder will be responsible

 

  • Deliver quality early learning, childcare provision and family based work in the outdoor environment.

  • Working collaboratively with early years providers within the local community, in the local council and funders.

  • Take specific responsibility for a group of children, ensuring they have access to and participate in high quality early years outdoor provision.

  • Promote a happy, caring and welcoming atmosphere for children, parents, staff, volunteers and visitors.

  • You will gain an understanding of how an outdoor environmental education programme runs and assist with preparing and maintaining resources

  • Adhere to the Jeely Piece Clubs commitment to Health and Safety, Risk Assessing, Equal Opportunities and compliance with all other relevant policies in relation to outdoor experiences.

  • Work in partnership with parents, staff and other professionals promoting Health and wellbeing within the outdoor environment.

  • Communicate effectively with children, families, colleagues and other professionals.

(3 of 4 ) Early Years Development Worker (2 POSTS)

The position of EYDW will offer an excellent opportunity to be part of a dedicated team of experienced and passionate practitioners in a unique highly regarded therapeutic service. The successful candidate will receive mentoring from the Senior Early Years team who are committed to supporting ongoing training and development.

Main Functions of the Post:

 

  1. To plan, implement and evaluate programmes of care and education for children under 5, in accordance with the Pre-Birth to Three Curriculum, Curriculum for Excellence, Getting It Right for Every Child, and the Jeely pedagogy.         

  2. To set up the nursery/outreach base in accordance with the curriculum and children’s care plans.

  3. To support parents and carers in their role as primary carers.

  4. To contribute to the evaluation of service provision

(4 of 4 ) Receptionist/Service User Assistant - CJS

To advance education primarily among the children of Castlemilk and environs through: the provision and supervision of learning-orientated activities for school and pre-school children; the provision of care, guidance, instruction, activities and support directed towards addressing the special educational needs of school and pre-school children who are living in necessitous circumstances and /or single parent family.

  •  Be the first point on contact for children, adults and families accessing our buildings.

  •  Be the fist point of contact for enquiries via our website and social media channels.

  •  Provide a professional yet friendly and helpful approach to greeting visitors.

  •  Be able to manage own diary schedule

  •  Be able to signpost users/enquiries to the appropriate staff team

  •  Be able to learn and work the phone system across both sites

  •  Be able to use technology such as Microsoft apps, facebook, twitter, instagram etc
